What is Henna?
Henna—also called Mehndi—is the ancient art of painting the body with paste made from the leaves of the henna plant. This art form has been practiced for centuries in India, the Middle East, and North Africa.
How is Henna Applied?
Henna is applied on the skin as a paste, (Henna Creations by Soo only uses World Class Ash Kumar Henna Products. We use 100% pure henna and eucalyptus oil in our recipe.) using a “cone” applicator.
After the henna paste has dried, it is sprayed with a natural sealant made of lemon and sugar to help keep the dried paste from falling off the skin too quickly. The paste is left on for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
How do I apply henna?
There are many methods used to apply henna and create beautiful designs. At Henna Creations we recommend the use of plastic henna cones. Using a cone allows you to make incredibly fine lines and beautiful detailed designs.
Steps To Apply Henna
1. Mix henna according to recipe on the back of the Bollywood Henna Kit.
2. After the paste is mixed fill each plastic cone applicator and seal the end.
3. Cut the tip (pin-hole size) of the cone to allow flow.
4. Hold the cone in your hand like you would a pencil and gently squeeze the paste on the skin and start making patterns.

How long does Henna last on the skin?
Depending on what part of the body henna is applied on, henna will generally last anywhere from 5 to 21 days. Keep the paste on your skin as long as possible. The longer it stays on, the darker the stain. (4 hours minimum to overnight).
How long will the henna tattoo last?
It will last anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks depending on your body temperature level, where the henna is applied, and how often you wash the hennaed area. The more you wash your henna tattoo the faster it will fade away. The longer you leave it on, the better.
How do I take care of my henna? (Aftercare)
When you first remove the henna off of your skin, your henna will be a light orange color and will deepen over the next 48 hrs. Henna should be applied 2 days before an event so that the color is at its darkest.
For Best Results:
1. Do not rinse the henna paste off skin. Instead, scrape the stain off with a credit card edge or fingernail.
2. Your Henna design will last longest if you refrain from immersing it in water or scrubbing it. Keep it moisturized.
3. Avoid exposing it to detergents and cleaning chemicals as much as possible during the first 24-48 hours.
Is henna safe during pregnancy?
Yes, henna is safe to apply on pregnant women.
What is “Black Henna”?

Yes. Henna not only colors but it also nourishes hair. It is the only 100% natural hair dye. Henna gives a red to brown color tone depending on your natural hair color. We recommend that you first perform a strand test before you apply it on the entire head. Henna Creations only recommends top of the line Ash Kumar henna powder for hair.
Recipe for Hair:
The Ash Kumar Bollywood Henna Kit provides henna for approximately 2 henna applications (depending on hair length).
Empty half sachet into bowl, add 2 egg whites to powder, add 2 tablespoons of Clove Oil and then add cold water, let stand for 25 mins.
Henna is instant in colour, ready for application.
Leave on for 2 hours and then rinse thoroughly.
How long does the paste last?
Once you mix the henna with the oil it will last up to 4 weeks if it is kept in the refrigerator in an air tight container. Henna powder stays fresh up to 1 year if kept in a sealed container away from light and moisture.
